Oaxaca, Mexico: Huge crystal-clear object shaped like a spiral trumpet hangs motionless
At 4:00 p.m. on 6 July 1874, Lucas Villafaña in Oaxaca, Mexico, observed an "aerial meteorite" shaped like a gigantic spiral trumpet suspended vertically, which remained stationary for 5–6 minutes before vanishing.
Background
At 4:00 p.m. Lucas Villafaña observed an "aerial meteorite" in Oaxaca, Mexico, in the form of a gigantic spiral trumpet suspended vertically. He estimated it as 425 feet long and 200 feet in diameter at the widest part of its base, and 76 feet at its narrowest. It had a "clear limpid crystal" color. It oscillated gently and remained stationary for 5–6 minutes before vanishing. Eberhart cites the article "An Aerial Meteorite" in Scientific American Supplement of 9 November 1878. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
