Around 9:30 p.m. on three successive nights, several people in Humacao, Puerto Rico, saw a comet-like object. It failed to appear on 24 November. A similar object was observed on one night in Sulphur Springs, Ohio, but apparently it was visible nowhere else. Scientific American reported both observations in January and February 1884. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
