European Theater: Gen. Arnold asks physicist David Griggs to look into aerial phenomena
On 28 October 1944 Gen. Henry H. "Hap" Arnold asked physicist David T. Griggs, a civilian radar adviser to the War Department, to look into incidents of unusual aerial phenomena in Europe and to interview pilots.
Background
Physicist David T. Griggs, a civilian adviser on radar to the War Department, was asked by Gen. Henry H. "Hap" Arnold to look into incidents of unusual aerial phenomena in Europe and to interview pilots. He later moved his investigation to the Pacific Theater. His report to Arnold at the end of the war has never been located. James E. McDonald interviewed Griggs on 10 April 1969. Eberhart cites Michael D. Swords, "David Griggs and the Foo Fighters," in the International UFO Reporter (2007). The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
