Johannesburg, South Africa: Saucer with golden ball hovers over hotel, two tall figures
Late one evening in the summer of 1946, two women on a walk in Johannesburg, South Africa, saw a saucer-shaped object with a golden ball in its center hovering 5 feet above the roof of a nearby hotel; between ball and disc they saw two tall figures in white uniforms.
Background
Late in the evening two women on a walk in Johannesburg saw an aerial object hovering 5 feet above the roof of a nearby hotel. It was shaped like a saucer with a round, golden ball in the center, evenly split between the top and bottom sections. After a clicking noise the ball dropped through the saucer until it was level with the roof; after more clicks it rose 8–9 feet through and above the saucer. In the space between ball and disc the witnesses saw two figures about 7 feet tall, fair-complexioned and broad-shouldered, with short wavy hair, wearing white uniforms with stiff collars, who stood motionless until the object floated away. The case was published by John Judge in Flying Saucer Review in 1979. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
