Background

During the Scandinavian ghost rocket wave, an astronomer and meteorologist was looking at clouds through a telescope in Stockholm when he saw a luminous object. He estimated it at about 90 feet long and described it as torpedo-shaped and metallic. The object had a tapered tail that spewed glowing blue and green smoke and a series of fireballs. It then exploded with a terrific flash. The New York Times reported the observation on August 12 and 13, 1946. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
