Central and southern Sweden: Hundreds see blue-white “ghost bombs” fly north
Between 9:00 and 10:00 p.m. on August 11, 1946, hundreds of people in central and southern Sweden saw “ghost bombs” flying from south to north and giving off a brilliant blue-white light; some witnesses saw smaller silver balls come out of the larger objects.
Background
Between 9:00 and 10:00 p.m. hundreds of people in central and southern Sweden saw “ghost bombs” flying from south to north and giving off a brilliant blue-white light. Sometimes two of the objects were seen flying together. Some witnesses saw smaller silver balls come out of the larger objects, which were variously described as cylinders and torpedoes with a “wide nose” and a “fire-spurting tail.” Svenska Dagbladet reported the sightings on August 12 and 13, 1946, and the New York Times carried them on its front page on August 12. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
