Background
At 11:30 a.m. Edward Louis DeRose in Greenfield, Massachusetts, saw a small, round-shaped, silvery-white object moving in a northwesterly direction faster than a speeding plane at an estimated altitude of 1,000 feet. The object stayed in view for 8β10 seconds until it was obscured by a cloud bank. It reflected the sunlight strongly, as if made of polished aluminum or silver. The case appears in the Air Force base intelligence report "Flying Discs" of July 30, 1947, and in pages of the PURSUE release. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
