Background
US Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Carl Spaatz told the Boise Idaho Statesman that he did not rule out the possibility that the flying disks were “foreign experimentation.” He added that the Air Force was still investigating the reports. Spaatz also said he still wanted people to report their sightings. The newspaper ran the statement on its front page on 17 December 1947. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
