Background

At 6:00 p.m. Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn were sitting outside their home in St. Louis, Missouri, near the Mississippi River when a strange craft flew over. They described it as more triangular than a "saucer," ruddy brown or red in color and shaped like a stingray without the tail. It flew rapidly and seemed to oscillate from side to side; they watched it for 45 seconds. Project Grudge investigators wrote the sighting off as "probably" an aircraft, although no record of a commercial or military aircraft over their home at that time was found. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
