Background

In the evening R. B. Benevides, Macario Ramirez and nine other members of two ranch families saw a flying disc over rural Brooks County, Texas. They described a round object about 12 feet wide and 3 feet thick, with no wings, no propellers and no windows. The disc circled their area seven times at roughly 1,000 feet altitude before shooting off to the southwest toward Mexico. The Shreveport Times reported the sighting on March 16, 1950. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
