St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin: Skyhook balloon crew sees glowing object turn and climb away
At 10:10 a.m. on 10 October 1951, General Mills pilot Joseph J. Kaliszewski and copilot Jack Donaghue, tracking a Skyhook balloon 10 miles east of St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, saw a glowing object make a sharp turn and climb away.
Background
At 10:10 a.m. engineer and pilot Joseph J. Kaliszewski, flying with copilot Jack Donaghue on a Skyhook balloon tracking mission for General Mills 10 miles east of St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, noticed a strange object crossing the sky from west to east, much higher than and behind the balloon, which was at 20,000 feet. The object had a peculiar glow. It came into sight in a slight dive, levelled off and slowed down, made a sharp left turn, and climbed at an angle of 50–60° into the southeast with great acceleration before disappearing. It was in sight for about 2 minutes. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
