Background
On March 31, 1952, Battelle began its UFO study, referred to as P-47S and nicknamed Little Stork, under the supervision of William T. Reid. The study was folded into Project Stork, an initiative to examine the Soviet Union's technological warfare capabilities. Almost all of the UFO analysis consisted of compiling IBM punch cards based on data forwarded from Project Blue Book files. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
