Background

At 10:33 p.m. James Richardson and three other amateur astronomers, among them Cyril Thomas Wyche and Harry B. Mooney, were setting up telescopes at Furman University in Greenville when they saw a diamond formation of four oval, reddish-yellow or reddish-brown luminous objects nearly overhead. The objects wobbled in flight and disappeared after 3 seconds, moving through a 12° arc. Their apparent size was that of a half dollar at arm's length. The entry cites NICAP, Sparks, Willy Smith and Michael D. Swords. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
