Background

At 2:37 a.m. radar men at Goose Bay AFB (now CFB Goose Bay), Labrador, picked up a UFO track. 2nd Lt. A'Gostino and others outside saw a strange, red-lighted object come in over the field. The radar blip suddenly enlarged, as if the object had banked and exposed a larger surface to the beam, and the airmen saw the red light wobble or flutter. After a moment the light turned white and quickly disappeared, apparently in a steep climb. Donald Keyhoe treated the radar and visual sightings as simultaneous, but Project Blue Book records indicate they were separate. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
