Background
At 10:00 a.m., engineer John A. Anderson and other technicians at the Savannah River Atomic Site near Aiken, South Carolina, watched a greenish glowing object above the plant. It darted back and forth silently and erratically at high speed. The object was in view for two minutes, moving constantly and changing direction at sharp angles. It then disappeared over the horizon at “tremendous velocity.” James E. McDonald cited the case in his statement to the House Committee on Science and Astronautics on 29 July 1968. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
