Background

At 10:15 a.m. USAF Col. Gerald W. Johnson was flying an F-84G when he saw two silver balls near the ghost town of Hermanas, New Mexico. They seemed to be 6 feet in diameter and 2 miles away; one seemed to change into a long gray object as it turned to the right. After 3 minutes they disappeared and reappeared 7 minutes later, when the F-84 was over El Paso, Texas. One after the other, the objects climbed straight up 2,000–3,000 feet. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
