Background

At 9:00 p.m., five witnesses observed an illuminated, cigar-shaped object flying above the RAAF Woomera Range Complex in South Australia during an open-air movie screening. Warrant Officer E. J. V. Hanley watched a lighted object with a spurting light at the rear traveling horizontally from west to east. Another officer described it as 'lit up like a neon light with a haze around it'; it was whitish in color, with exhausts described as 'yellowish or cream'. The case is documented in RAAF files published by The Black Vault and discussed by Ross Coulthart (2023). The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
