Washington, D.C.: Slow radar targets on National Airport radar, no visual confirmation
At 12:30 a.m. on November 30, 1952, numerous slow-moving radar targets of 90–100 mph appeared on the MEW VG-2 radar at Washington National Airport in Washington, D.C.; a pilot at 6,000 feet saw nothing.
Background
At 12:30 a.m. numerous slow-moving radar targets of 90–100 mph appeared on the MEW VG-2 radar at Washington National Airport in Washington, D.C. They suggested anomalous propagation and, unlike the July 1952 cases, had no visual confirmation, no confirmation by other radars and no fighter scrambles. A pilot at 6,000 feet saw nothing. CAA Senior Airways Specialist Austin M. Stapf said the same had been observed at the same time on November 29, and that the Andrews AFB watch supervisor could not visually confirm targets over Andrews shown on the ARTCC radar scope. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
