Background

At 2:45 p.m. the 256th Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment in Lee, southeast London, tracked a solid radar target moving slowly at a distance of 17 miles. Through a telescope it appeared to be a circular white object. Four aircraft technicians, including Sgt. H. Waller, tracked the target for 25 minutes; Waller said it was about 350–450 feet in diameter and definitely not a balloon. The War Office stated that the object was a radiosonde balloon. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
