Swedish Pilots Report Flying Pastille-Shaped Object

In December 1953, Swedish military pilots reported observing a pastille-shaped (flattened disc) unidentified flying object. The sighting was documented by Swedish military authorities during a period of intense European UFO activity that followed the 1946 Ghost Rocket wave and preceded the 1954 European flap.

The Incident

The Swedish Air Force pilots described the object as flattened, with an oblate disc or 'pastille' profile, hence the case name in Swedish files. The encounter was brief. The object was logged through the Swedish Air Defence command structure and assessed alongside other mid-1950s Scandinavian unknown-aerial-object reports.

Significance

The case is part of the early Swedish military UAP archive that remained largely classified until partial declassification in the 2000s-2010s.
