Background

Ed J. Sullivan's Civilian Saucer Investigation (CSI) of Los Angeles disbanded because its subscription revenue was insufficient for an organization run by part-time volunteers. In its final conclusions the group stated that UFOs are not experimental aircraft and may well be extraterrestrial. Both the dissolution notice and the conclusions appeared in the CSI Quarterly Bulletin no. 4, Winter 1954. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
