Background
At 11:00 p.m., the Ground Control Approach radar at Carswell Air Force Base near Fort Worth, Texas, detected a target 13–15 miles to the southwest. A "mystery aircraft" then passed over the Carswell tower at just over 3,000 feet. Seen through binoculars, it had a long fuselage, elliptical wings, some kind of stabilizer, a bright light on its nose and tail, two yellowish lights underneath and possibly lights on each wingtip. It made no sound. The report was sent directly to the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the CIA and the NSA. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
