Korat, Thailand: Orange fireball paces Royal Thai Air Force T-6 training flight
Around midnight in May 1954, Capt. Uthai Lunayatjata, on a training flight from Korat Royal Thai Air Force Base, saw an orange fireball with a smaller blue fireball approach his T-6 Texan, pace it briefly and outclimb his pursuit.
Background
At midnight in May 1954, Capt. Uthai Lunayatjata was on a training flight with a student out of Korat Royal Thai Air Force Base near Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand. Flying toward the city at 3,000 feet, he saw an orange fireball about 6 feet in diameter pass his T-6 Texan on a parallel course at 800–1,000 mph; the control tower reported no other aircraft in the area. As he turned to follow, he noticed a smaller blue fireball apparently attached to the orange one; the fireball made a fast half-circle, appeared about 600 feet off his tail and paced the aircraft at 140–160 mph. The crew noticed that the center of the orange fireball was dark. After 20 seconds it sped ahead and made a climbing right turn; Lunayatjata chased it up to about 5,000 feet but could not get close, and it disappeared in the distance. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
