Background

At 7:35 p.m. three witnesses, Jean Olivier, François Pérano and a teenager, saw a reddish disc about 12 feet in diameter near Bourrassol, a suburb of Toulouse, France. A small being about 4 feet tall was standing nearby wearing a diver's suit; its head was large and it had enormous eyes. One witness approached to within 60–70 feet and was paralyzed. The object soon took off. Eberhart marks the case as a possible journalistic hoax and cites Life magazine of 1 November 1954, Loren E. Gross and Patrick Gross. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
