Background

Around 9:30 a.m., Guy Puyfourcat was returning from the fields near Cier-de-Rivière, Haute-Garonne, France, leading his mare on a halter. The horse suddenly became restless and jumpy as a gray object about 4 feet in diameter rose from one side of the road and passed over them. The mare rose about 9 feet into the air; Puyfourcat let go of her, and the animal fell to the ground and could not move for 10 minutes. The object moved away at high speed. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
