At 2:30 p.m. on 17 October 1954, hunter Maxime Pignatelli, 65, saw a gray object on the ground on the banks of the Durance near Corbières, France, from whose dome two helmeted figures emerged.
Background
Maxime Pignatelli, 65, was hunting with his dog on the banks of the Durance River near Corbières, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, when he saw a gray object about 12 feet long and 3 feet high on the ground about 130 feet away. Two helmeted figures emerged from a dome. The man fled. His dog also retreated a little later, walking awkwardly as if partly paralyzed. The account follows the entry in George M.
