Gelles, France: Truck driver feels paralyzed, vehicle slows, elongated object in a field
On October 18, 1954, at 5:30 p.m., M. Bachelard, driving a light truck southeast of Gelles, Puy-de-Dôme, felt paralyzed as his truck slowed and saw an elongated object in a field.
Background
At 5:30 p.m. M. Bachelard was driving a light truck southeast of Gelles, Puy-de-Dôme, France. As he rounded a bend he felt paralyzed and his truck slowed to less than 20 mph. In a nearby field he saw an elongated object about 5 feet high. A few minutes later he reached the village of Coheix, which lay off his normal route, and began telling people about the event. Later ufologists suspected that some missing time may have been involved. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
