Background

Around noon, a family living in a cottage on the outskirts of Norco, California, heard a metallic droning sound while sitting down to lunch. The mother and daughter went outside and saw an object like a rowboat with a transparent dome, about 20 feet long and 10 feet wide, pass slowly overhead, stop and hover over a nearby tree. Inside the dome were five helmeted men staring at the witnesses; their “rather long faces” were olive-colored, and their eyes and hair were dark. After about a minute the droning resumed and the object slowly took off. Donald B. Hanlon reported the case in Flying Saucer Review in 1968. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
