Talara, Peru: Two Peruvian Air Force officers see red domed disc shoot past their car
At 2:00 a.m. on January 31, 1955, Peruvian Air Force Commander Guillermo Serpa and Col. Juan Rodriguez Cavero, driving through the Sechura Desert toward El Pato Air Base near Talara, saw a deep red domed disc.
Background
Commander Guillermo Serpa and Col. Juan Rodriguez Cavero were returning by car through the Sechura Desert on the Pan-American Highway 1N to El Pato Air Base near Talara when they saw a bright light in the sky ahead. The object, a deep red domed disc, came nearer and Serpa stopped the car to watch it. It tilted slightly toward them and made occasional clicking sounds. Several minutes later it accelerated quickly toward them, turned bright orange and then bright white, and shot past them at terrific speed. The account follows the entry in George M.
