Background

At 7:15 p.m. on April 8, 1955, Dominic Sondy was looking west through his front door in Roseville, Michigan, when he saw a white bar in the sky that appeared sharp, rigid and frosted, with square ends and a perfectly straight length. It did not disintegrate after 5 minutes, as a vapor trail would. The object began to move from the northeast to the southwest, against the wind, while changing its apparent angle. Sondy called Frank Gallagher, who lived a short distance away and could also see the object; they watched it for about 20 minutes before it vanished over the horizon. The case was reported in CRIFO Orbit in July 1955 in an article on the Rockford, Illinois, incident. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
