Background

At 11:50 p.m. personnel at the Ground Observer Corps tower in Hamilton County, Ohio, noticed three white spheres between Columbus and Cincinnati. Tracking them on radar, they notified SAC at Lockbourne AFB, which scrambled jets to investigate. The UFO approached the tower and hovered in pendulum-like motions directly above it; the interceptors gave chase, but it disappeared at great speed, and the Greater Cincinnati Airport also tracked unidentified blips on radar. Stringfield obtained clearance to write about the sightings in CRIFO Orbit, but the Cincinnati newspapers were not interested. A Wright-Patterson AFB spokesperson denied the incident to the press and claimed to know nothing about Stringfield's relationship with ADC. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
