Williston, Florida: Police officer sees six lights, one passes over him, heat felt
At 10:15 p.m. on November 2, 1955, police officer Corrie F. Bell in Williston, Florida, saw six lighted objects in formation; one passed directly over him at close range, and its heat gave him a stinging sensation.
Background
At 10:15 p.m. police officer Corrie F. Bell, parked in downtown Williston, saw six lighted objects approaching slowly in formation from the south, one of them occasionally falling behind and speeding up to catch up. After they passed over the city, one object banked and lost altitude; Bell drove about a mile and a half north, got out of his car, and the object passed directly over him, keeping it in close view for about 7 minutes. Its light illuminated an area 50β70 feet in diameter; Bell judged it to be about 150 feet away and 3 feet wide, silent, shaped like a washtub and pure white without marks or windows. The heat from the object gave him a stinging sensation and made his clothes hot before it moved off to the east and disappeared. The case is in the Project Blue Book files and was reported in CRIFO Orbit in March 1956. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
