Background

At 6:00 a.m. Mrs. Frank Nagy reported seeing several dark red, balloon-like balls of light hanging motionless in the sky near her home in Wadhams, Michigan. She watched them for nearly 15 minutes; they made no sound and stayed in one spot before slowly descending toward a wooded area. Other residents also reported the glowing objects. Sheriff's deputies investigated the site where the lights seemed to fall but found nothing unusual, and Air Force officials stated that no aircraft or flares had been in the area at the time. The Port Huron Times Herald reported the case on January 25 and 26, 1956. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
