Brooklyn, New York: Army sergeant watches glowing blue round object for 15 minutes
On the night of 23 February 1956, US Army Sgt. George Pierce, walking his dog in Bushwick, Brooklyn, saw a large, round, flat object glowing blue and trailing white smoke for nearly 15 minutes.
Background
George Pierce, a 40-year-old US Army sergeant, was walking his dog along Moffat Street in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn, New York, when he heard a loud rumbling noise like a distressed aircraft. He looked up and saw a large, round, flat object glowing with a blue fluorescent light and trailing white smoke. He watched it for nearly 15 minutes as it appeared to circle toward Idlewild Airport (now John F. Kennedy International Airport) and then head back toward the East River. No aircraft matching the description was in the area or on radar. The New York Journal-American reported the sighting on 24 February 1956. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
