Caraguatatuba, Brazil: Lawyer says tall fair-haired men took him aboard a hat-shaped craft
At 7:00 p.m. on 16 July 1956, lawyer João de Freitas Guimarães, walking on the beach at Caraguatatuba, São Paulo, Brazil, saw a luminous hat-shaped object leave the sea and land nearby; he said two tall, fair-haired men invited him aboard for an hour-long flight.
Background
At 7:00 p.m., lawyer (or law professor) João de Freitas Guimarães was walking on the beach at Caraguatatuba, São Paulo, Brazil, when he saw a hat-shaped luminous object leave the sea between São Sebastião and Ilhabela and land a few yards from him. A door opened, a metallic stairway emerged, and two tall, human-looking men with long fair hair in green jumpsuits came out and gestured for him to come aboard. According to his account, the craft took off, the crew communicated with him telepathically about a radiation protection system around the ship, told him they had left the atmosphere and were supposedly from Venus. His alleged trip lasted an hour, and on his return his watch no longer worked. The case was reported in Flying Saucer Review in 1957 and is discussed by Jacques Vallée and in Brazilian sources. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
