Putney, Vermont: Yellow lights dart away from jets, later a red barbell-shaped object
At 9:30 p.m. on 23 July 1956, Virginia Maratea and her sister-in-law watched several fast yellow lights over Putney, Vermont, that darted away when jets passed, and later a glowing red barbell-shaped object.
Background
Virginia Maratea and her sister-in-law watched several yellow lights "the size of golf balls held at arm's length" moving swiftly through the sky in Putney, Vermont, sometimes coming to a complete stop and turning blue-white. When jets roared over, the lights darted away and returned later. Later still they saw a glowing red, barbell-shaped object the size of a large bomber moving swiftly in the west. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
