Jackson, Alabama: Capital Airlines pilots watch light perform acrobatics, then race off
On November 14, 1956, at 10:10 p.m., Capital Airlines Flight 77 pilots William Joseph Hull and Peter H. Macintosh saw an object over Jackson, Alabama, that hovered, performed acrobatics and shot off over the Gulf of Mexico.
Background
At 10:10 p.m. Captain William Joseph Hull and copilot Peter H. Macintosh were flying Capital Airlines Flight 77 from New York City to Mobile, Alabama. At 25,000 feet, approximately above Jackson, Alabama, they saw something like a brilliant meteor flash by the aircraft. The object stopped, hovered and for several minutes performed a range of acrobatics, including gyrations, lazy eights, square chandelles and 90° turns. It then shot out over the Gulf of Mexico at 'fantastic speed' and diminished to a pinpoint. The case is listed among Project Blue Book unknowns and was discussed in the Condon report. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
