Background

At 10:00 a.m. a tadpole-like object was seen at Ichinoseki, Iwate Prefecture, Japan. Afterwards, material resembling spider web fell in great profusion around Saguramachi Middle School for about two hours. A chemical analysis found that the material was organic, dissolved in hydrochloric acid and burned, and that its crystal structure differed from that of spider web. The case was reported in Flying Saucer Review and Fate in 1958 and later reviewed in Brian Boldman's survey of angel hair analyses in the Journal of UFO Studies. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
