Maralinga, Australia: RAF team sees domed metallic object hover after nuclear tests
One late afternoon in October 1957, a British RAF team preparing to return home from the Maralinga nuclear test site in South Australia, after the Operation Antler blasts, saw a silvery-blue metallic object with a flat base and a dome hover for 15 minutes before shooting up out of sight without a sound.
Background
Late one afternoon a British RAF team was planning to return home from the Maralinga, South Australia, nuclear test site, where the Operation Antler series of blasts had taken place (September 14, September 25 and October 9). Outside, they saw a silvery-blue, metallic UFO with a flat base and a dome on top, with several squarish portholes visible around the center. The object tilted at 45° and hovered. After 15 minutes it shot up out of sight without a sound. One of the witnesses was Derek Murray, later a Home Office photographer. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
