Background

In the afternoon Cynthia Appleton blacked out unexpectedly at her home at 87 Fentham Road in Aston, a suburb of Birmingham, England. On 19 November she felt faint again as the light outside dimmed, and a man with blond hair wearing coveralls materialized in the center of the room, speaking to her telepathically. He told her not to be afraid, said he came from a world he called Gharnasvarn, which she identified with Venus, and showed her what seemed to be a holographic image of two spaceships. She reported further visitations on 7 January and 7 February 1958; the visitor later told her she was pregnant, and she gave birth to a blond boy whom she and her husband Ron named Matthew. Appleton said the visitors came a few more times, but the trail grows cold in July 1960. Eberhart cites Flying Saucer Review (1958, 1966, 1968), Jenny Randles in International UFO Reporter (1988), Kottmeyer, Fortean Times (2004), Bill Chalker and Clarke and Roberts. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
