Baskatong Reservoir, Quebec: Glowing sphere hovers, hunters' radios fail
At 9 p.m. on November 6, 1957, four men at a hunting lodge on the Baskatong Reservoir, Quebec, watched a glowing sphere for 15 minutes while their radios failed or picked up only a modulated tone.
Background
At 9:00 p.m. Jacques N. Jacobsen Jr. and three friends, William Munday, William Totten and Robert Dawson, were listening to a battery-powered radio in a hunting lodge on the Baskatong Reservoir, Quebec. Outside they saw a glowing yellow-white sphere 2β3 miles to the southwest that stayed in place for 15 minutes. During this time their portable radio went silent, and one man's shortwave set worked on only one frequency, emitting a strong, rapidly modulated tone that sounded like Morse code but was not. When the object rose into the clouds, the radios worked normally again. The report appeared in the CSI News Letter of December 15, 1957. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
