Background

At 1:25 a.m. Leita Mae Kuhn was checking the stove in her Doberman dog kennel at Madison, Ohio, when she noticed a glowing, domed disc hovering 60 feet above the rear of the kennel. It was about 40 feet in diameter and emitted puffy clouds of smoke. Her eyes began to burn after watching it for 20–30 minutes, and she ran back into the house and locked the door. She developed rashes and her eyes hurt so badly that she visited a doctor, who found no radioactivity but could not explain her symptoms. Ohio newspapers reported the case on November 27, 1957, and it was later discussed by APRO, NICAP and Michael D. Swords in the IUR. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
