Porteiro Ortiz, Brazil: Two red lights close in on investigators' car from both sides
At 10:30 p.m. on 19 February 1958 four men investigating the Ponta Porã case saw two reddish lights approach their car from both sides near Porteiro Ortiz, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, and fled to Ponta Porã.
Background
At 10:30 p.m. Cicero Claudino da Silva, Mustafa Esgaib, Alegario Campos and João Manuel Vasquez, who were investigating the Ponta Porã case from December, were at Porteiro Ortiz, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, along Highway 463, shining their lights toward the Paraguayan frontier. A reddish light appeared and grew larger, as if approaching them. The ground around their car was illuminated for a few seconds, and they realized that another red light was nearing them on the other side of the car. They drove to Ponta Porã at breakneck speed. Olavo T. Fontes reported the incident in the APRO Bulletin in March 1959. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
