United States: Air Force releases three paragraphs of the 1953 Robertson Panel report
In March 1958, the US Air Force released parts of the 1953 Robertson Panel report, three paragraphs recommending that the national security agencies strip UFOs of their special status and aura of mystery.
Background
The US Air Force released parts of the 1953 Robertson Panel report. The release amounted to a mere three paragraphs, recommending that "the national security agencies take immediate steps to strip the Unidentified Flying Objects of the special status they have been given and the aura of mystery they have unfortunately acquired." NICAP's UFO Investigator reported on the matter in June 1958 under the headline "CIA Evades, Then Denies Charge of Attempted UFO Censorship." The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
