Background
Jim Dobbs Jr. was driving south on State Highway 18 south of Hobbs, New Mexico, when he saw an egg-shaped object glowing like radium on a watch dial. He estimated it to be 10° above the southern horizon and traveling fast. His radio faded out and produced only a steady succession of two dots and a dash. The object disappeared in the east after 30 seconds. Eberhart cites the Alamogordo Daily News of 26 February 1959 and the APRO Bulletin of March 1959. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
