Background

At 7:25 p.m., officials at London Airport (now Heathrow), England, saw a pale-yellow light above one of the runways. Airport and air defense radars did not pick up any target. RAF Fighter Command Headquarters said the light fluctuated in intensity and was about 200 feet above the ground. It stayed in one position for 20 minutes, then climbed away at high speed. The Birmingham Post and the Toronto Daily Star reported the sighting in March 1959. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
