Background

Mr. and Mrs. Gary Bond were driving near Ann Arbor, Michigan, when they saw an intensely lighted object hovering about 2 miles to the southeast, some 200 feet in the air just south of a main road. Intense shafts of light shone from two oval ports at the bottom. Driving closer, they heard no sound and found it was about 50–75 feet from the road. The object paralleled their car, then the light shafts went out, a circle of eight to ten red lights appeared on the bottom, and it rose rapidly and disappeared in seconds. Local radio astronomer Allen Barrot claimed the couple had seen the lights of his telescope, but the Air Force found that they had never been looking toward his observatory. Eberhart cites the Ann Arbor News of 23 March 1959, Gross and Swords. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
