Kyger, Ohio: Car radio fails as pan-shaped light follows serviceman, posse gives chase
At 8:45 p.m. on 19 March 1959, refrigeration serviceman Mayo R. Bales had his car radio cut out and his headlights dim north of Kyger, Ohio, as a shiny pan-shaped object with a white light appeared; it followed him, and nine people later watched and chased it.
Background
At 8:45 p.m., refrigeration serviceman Mayo R. Bales was driving on State Route 124 north of Kyger, Ohio, when his car radio cut out and a loud buzzing filled the air. He then saw an object about 300 feet up and 75–100 feet ahead of his vehicle while his headlights dimmed; it was shaped like a shiny aluminum pan with a white light bright enough to see but not painful to the eyes. The light followed him from Chapel Road to the home of his in-laws, Dennis Spires, where Bales summoned nine people to view it. Some rode with him as they followed the object until it vanished over a hill. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
