Uberlândia, Brazil: Power station keys trip as bright object passes along lines
On August 17, 1959, the automatic keys at the power station in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, disconnected all four trunk lines as a bright object passed along the power lines; the system returned to normal once it had passed.
Background
The automatic keys at the power station in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, Brazil, suddenly disconnected power to all four trunk lines. A technician at a substation 45 miles away reported that all keys there had disconnected as a UFO passed overhead, traveling along the power lines toward the main station. The chief engineer reset the keys, but they turned off again. Outside he saw a bright object approaching at high speed, and as soon as it had passed, the entire system returned to normal. Coral Lorenzen, Schopick, McCampbell and Loren E. Gross report the case. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
