Gironde, France: Woman sees luminous oval with portholes hover in château park, grass dies
On December 9, 1960, at 8:30 p.m., Mme. Dhelens saw a luminous oval object with two round portholes hover just above the ground in the park of the Château des Mailles, Gironde, France.
Background
At 8:30 p.m. Mme. Dhelens at the Château des Mailles in Gironde, France, which Eberhart places 31 miles south of Carignan-de-Bordeaux, saw a luminous oval object twice the size of an automobile hovering just above the ground in the château's park. It had two round portholes behind which she saw indistinct shadows moving. The object took off and left a 12-foot circle of yellowed grass, which later died. The case was investigated by the French magazine Ouranos. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
